CNN’s John Roberts confirms Romney’s “velvet rope” and renta-faux-cop policy

This story really seems to have legs. Even makes CNN:

In case you missed, the Romney campaign is denying that this ever happened. John Roberts says that it is the Romney’s campaign’s policy.

Gee, I wonder how Rudy’s security is handled?

John Roberts also reported that Ann Romney misjudged a step because of her MS and fell, when in reality the stage fell down on her.

I don’t think I would consider John Roberts a good source, but it doesn’t fit your sites agenda.

jbon, I saw that report, you are misrepresenting it I think. Roberts did report that she has MS and that she fell down. But he did not directly say that was the cause.

She does have MS and she did fall down. Common sense tells you the MS could be the reason why. I’m glad to know it wasn’t.

ee2793, it must be a rough day today for Romney supporters, knowing how he has a phony cop wannabe on staff.
I can see though why Romney would hire him. A phony cop for a phony candidate. Two peas in a pod…

    Rachel,

You are looking at the changed report. I was there. I watched her fall, checked CNN 1 hr later and the report was up.

Later the campaign requested them to change it and they did- which is the one you have read. I was sitting probably 15 feet from Roberts at the time.

Actually Romney’s gaurd mentioned in the story you mentioned is a standup guy- I met him while I was there in Iowa. Unfortunately your desire to smear Romney means, like McCain, you will smear anyone in your path.

    Rachel,

Sorry, just looked back at what I wrote. You are right they did not directly say she fell because of her MS. They said she misjudged her step and has MS, the insinuation is obvious.

But is was more than obvioous at the time the stage had collapsed and that was why she fell, it was clearly obiovious sinc eit made a loud sound, and you could visibly be see it from were I was sitting. Since Roberts was only a 15 feet to my left, I don’t think he was unable to figure or find out what happened. Nor did any of this keep CNN from adding a picture of the Roney;s with scowls on their faces to the web page.

But hey, if you want to use CNN and John Roberts as valid sources when it helps your smeare, be my guest…

LOL, I am not in the business of smearing. I just observe and post my thoughts.
I will not argue about the Roberts report. I’ll take your word for it. I did not see the original.
A tip, don’t assume Romney’s fauxcop is a standup guy. I’m inclined to believe the reporter, he did mention it only in passing.
What that guy did is way over the top. He should be fired. Really.
I don’t think he ran the plates, he just claimed he did. What a moron.

    Rachel,

Trust me, look at your front page, it’s all Romney all the time. Who but you thinks this is not a Romney smear site?

This is site that is well versed in the McCainian tactics of smear.

I am no fan of McCain. Or Rudy or Romney or Tancredo. Yes this site doesn’t like Romney but really isn’t that what politics is all about?

There are pro Romney, McCain, Rudy, websites and there are anti Romney, McCain and Rudy sites too.
This is not my blog, I only post comments on occasion!

    Fair enough for you,

But this site is an anti-Romney smear site, that’s all it is. The owner is near fanatical about hating him, it’s really kind of funny.

Go visit hughhewitt.com. There you will see an amazing amount of praise and fawing over Romney. I read both this site and Hugh. I find both interesting!

    Yep,

You are right. And Hugh Hewitt has many times argued against the tactics employed by McCain.
